How To Repurpose Your Candle Jars

How To Repurpose Your Candle Jars

You have been transported through your paradise using Chaconia Candles. There’s no more wick left, and you have reached the end of your candle. What’s next?

Before repurposing your candles, let’s get the wax out. There are a few ways.

  1. Place the candle jar in the fridge for a few hours. The cold temperatures will cause the wax to harden and shrink. After you remove the jar from the refrigerator, the wax will pop out of the container, but to help the process, you can use a butter knife.

  1. Use the double boiler method. Place the candle jar in a pot and add water around the candle, a little under the half-way mark. Let the water boil a little. The heat will loosen the wax as it starts to melt. Carefully remove the jar; I advise using a towel. You can use a butter knife for popping out the wax entirely.

  1. You can use a fork and poke holes in the remaining wax. Add boiling water to the jar, over the half-way mark, and let it sit for a couple of hours. Then you can easily pour out the softened wax.

After doing these methods, you can use baby wipes to wipe off the excess residue. Yes, baby wipes! I learned this trick along the way! Baby wipes will clean all the coconut wax off the jar and make it less greasy. Use soap and warm water to clean off the rest thoroughly.

We use Kraft paper for our labels. There are a few ways to get them off. Using Goo gone is always an option. You can also soak the jar in warm water for a couple of minutes, and it should start peeling it off. You can also place oil around the label area and let it sit for about an hour. Then simply wipe it off.

Now here’s the fun part.

Your candles jars are multipurpose. We use amber candle jars that have an earthy and homely feel, that’s why it can be placed anywhere in your home. Be sure to keep out of the reach of children since it’s glass. You can put paintbrushes, teabags, dog treats, cotton swabs, makeup, pens, peas, and pretty much anything in your jars to repurpose them.

Please know, you can always recycle your jars when you are ready.
